Chabuka BaUshi Traditional Ceremony

The Chabuka BaUshi Traditional Ceremony is an annual event celebrating the migration of the Ushi people from Kola (Congo DR) to Zambia. Held in October/November in the Mansa District of Luapula Province, it commemorates their crossing of the Luapula River and their role in helping other tribes cross as well. The ceremony includes symbolic reenactments of the river crossing, cultural dances, singing, and drumming, and it brings together the Ushi people from Mansa, Chembe, and Milenge districts.
