Chembe District has received the first Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Police Landcruiser and has officially handed over to the Zambia Police Service in the District.
The handover of police vehicles aligns with the New Dawn Government’s broader efforts to strengthen security infrastructure and enhance the capacity of the police force, ultimately contributing to the overall well-being and progress of the country.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Council Chairperson Councillor Joseph Chisala said the story of unavailability of police vehicles is now a thing of the past and for this reason, the vehicle will help to respond effectively to security threats and concerns within the community.
Councillor Joseph Chisala said the community must consider the importance of maintaining law and order in the district and individuals found breaking the law, whether through theft of private or public assets, would be dealt with within the confines of the law.
He also called on the police service to maintain the vehicles with care and to work professionally as they execute your duties, without fear or favour of a person’s political or social standing.
And District Administrative Officer Mr Godwin Katakwe said the district must play a role in helping the service by ensuring that they desist from committing various crimes that endanger human life and the community at large.
Mr Katakwe also appreciated the New Dawn Government in its effort to promote development through Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in various ways and the Police Landcruiser being one of them.
