Chembe District attained its district status in the year 2012 out of Mansa district in Luapula Province of Zambia after a presidential pronouncement by his Excellent the late president Michael Chilufya Sata. There is only one constituency in Chembe, namely Chembe Constituency. The district has 8 (eight) wards with eight councillors. The total number of councillors is 11 which includes the chairperson and two chiefs, that is, Kalasa Lukangaba and Kasoma Lwela.  Readmore
